General Terms and Conditions of Sale

1/ Payment and Accepted Methods of Payment

The full amount of the stay is due at the time of booking. In this case, the reservation is held for 7 days. Receipt of payment within this period will confirm the booking.

Reservations for our stays can be made via our website nuit-insolite-jura.co , or directly at the reception of the Écrins du Val de Mouthe estate.

Please note : your booking option may be canceled in case of delayed payment. The option period is set to 7 days.
Our rates are inclusive of all taxes (except for the tourist tax). Only the rates displayed on the "rates" page of our website are valid at the time of booking confirmation.
Tourist tax: A tourist tax per guest per night is charged on-site. This tax is not subject to VAT and is entirely passed on to the "Communauté de communes des Lacs et Montagnes des Hauts Doubs" which sets the amount.

Upon arrival, a security deposit of €700 will be required by credit card pre-authorization. This amount will not be debited unless there is any damage—either accidental or intentional—to the interior or exterior of the accommodation (including terraces, spa, and saunas), theft of equipment or decorations, loss/non-return of keys, or unpaid items in the minibar. Any damage, loss, or non-payment will result in charges equivalent to the cost of replacement or repair. (The client may use their liability insurance). If there is no damage or theft, and all items have been duly paid for before departure, the deposit will be automatically released after 48 hours.

1.1 Accepted Methods of Payment :
Credit card (VISA, MASTER CARD)
On-site : Only cash, ANCV holiday vouchers, and credit cards are accepted.
No booking fees, except for postal charges related to registered mail for gift vouchers.

1.2 Gift Vouchers :
Gift vouchers are issued and sent to the customer by "Les Écrins du Val de Mouthe" via postal or electronic means. They serve as a method of payment that the beneficiary can use to book a stay or purchase one of the services available on the Écrins du Val de Mouthe website.
Low season vouchers can be used during high season up to their value.
High season vouchers can be used throughout the year. However, if used during low season, no refund of the difference will be issued. The differential value may be used for the purchase of other services offered by us.

1.3 Validity of Gift Vouchers :

Gift vouchers are valid for 24 months from the date of purchase. The expiration date is indicated on the voucher in your possession. A prior reservation must be made at least 6 months before the date of the stay, depending on the availability of the chosen cabin and the desired period.
Gift vouchers purchased with a discount from a promotional event (e.g., Black Friday, special sales, or flash sales) may have a shortened validity period of up to 6 months in certain cases.
Gift vouchers are nominative and numbered, and they are non-refundable, even partially. The stay must take place during the validity period of the gift voucher. To use your voucher, please contact us directly.
Gift vouchers that benefited from a commercial discount during purchase cannot be used to buy a stay at a discounted price.

1.4 Extension of Gift Voucher Validity
No extension of the validity period for gift vouchers is possible. No refund will be given for unused vouchers after their validity period has expired.
A stay booked with a gift voucher cannot be canceled, and thus will not be refunded or compensated.
Gift voucher payments must be received by the Écrins du Val de Mouthe within a maximum of 7 days after the booking. A confirmation email will be sent upon receipt of payment. Please note, if payment is not received within this period, your booking may be canceled without notice.
The gift voucher must be returned with the reservation to the following address :

2/ Withdrawal

A 14-day period following the booking date is granted for cancellation without charge.

3/ Modifications or Cancellations

For any modification or cancellation, a written request, preferably by email, will be required.

3.1 Cancellation Before Your Stay (by You)
In case of serious illness, accident, or death of an occupant registered at the time of booking, the stay will be fully refunded upon presentation of a medical certificate or death certificate.
In case of serious illness, accident, or death of a family member not staying in the cabin, the stay will be postponed without charge within 18 months following the cancellation, upon presentation of a medical certificate or death certificate only. No refund can be requested.
For any stay canceled and not falling under the above cancellation clauses, the following conditions apply:
More than 30 days before the arrival date: 50% of the stay's amount will be retained.
Less than 30 days before the stay: 100% of the stay's amount will be retained.

3.2 Modification or Cancellation of Stay by Les Écrins du Val de Mouthe Before Your Arrival
In case of weather alerts or unexpected external events beyond our control, such as severe weather, storms, or technical issues like equipment failure or water damage, rendering the cabin unsafe, we reserve the right to cancel your stay for safety reasons.
In such cases, we will offer to reschedule your stay at a later date within 24 months. If cancellation occurs after you have already left your home, we will offer alternative accommodation at no extra charge, subject to availability. Additionally, we will offer a 50% discount on a future equivalent cabin stay within the next 24 months.
If your reservation was made using a gift voucher, the terms and conditions regarding Gift Vouchers (1.3) apply. Gift vouchers are non-refundable. Your reservation can be postponed without charge within 24 months.

3.3 Modification or Cancellation of Stay by You on Site
If you refuse to access your cabin (due to fear, vertigo, etc.), no compensation will be given.

3.4 Evacuation During Your Stay by Les Écrins du Val de Mouthe
In case of adverse weather conditions (storm or lightning), or other circumstances requiring the closure or evacuation of the cabins, we reserve the right to rehouse you in other accommodations at no extra cost. In such cases only, you will receive a 50% discount on a future equivalent cabin stay within the next 12 months.
If you do not wish to be rehoused, we will offer to reschedule your stay within the next 12 months. No refund will be made.

4/ Arrival, Departure, and Client Commitment

Your arrival should be between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM. Any later arrivals must be reported by email to contact_null@_nulllesecrinsduvaldemouthe_null.com 

or by phone, and will incur an additional fee of €15 per time slot beyond 6:00 PM.
Cabins must be vacated by 11:00 AM on the day of departure. Any later departure will incur an additional fee of €15 per time slot beyond 11:00 AM up to 1:00 PM. After this period, the cost of an additional night will be charged.

Clients are required to respect the cabins and the property, ensuring no risk-taking or noise disturbances, and preserving the cabins and the environment. Absolute silence is requested between 10:00 PM and 8:00 AM. Alcohol consumption is allowed but should be moderate and at your own responsibility (stay sober!).

Upon booking, the client agrees to these terms and conditions and the Charter of Les Écrins du Val de Mouthe, which is included in the cabin’s welcome booklet. This acceptance releases Les Écrins du Val de Mouthe from liability in the case of non-compliance with these precautionary measures.

Additional Information
The cabin is equipped with fire extinguishers and smoke detectors. Smoking inside the cabin, as well as lighting candles or other flammable materials (camp stoves, oil lamps, barbecue, etc.) is prohibited. Alcohol consumption is at the responsibility of the guest.

For safety reasons, children are not allowed in the cabins.

The cabin is also equipped with comfort amenities (flat-screen TV, Nespresso machine, safe, microwave, mini-bar, high-quality furniture, etc.). Any damage or loss will be charged.

For your comfort, the cabin is thermally insulated and equipped with an automated pellet stove, which is set to maintain a temperature of 21°C. Any change in temperature must be done by a member of the Écrins du Val de Mouthe team. Unauthorized modifications will be considered intentional damage and may result in the partial or full forfeiture of your deposit.

Included Services :
Courtesy beverages (coffee, tea, water), breakfast delivered between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM, Wifi internet connection, bath towels and bathrobes provided (any damage or staining will incur cleaning fees), heated spa on the terrace, barrel sauna.

Quality catering platter served at the cabin.
 Hot meals served at the cabin.

5/ Capacity and Conditions for Access to Accommodations, SPA, and Saunas

Access to our domain and cabins is strictly reserved for adults. However, an adult may accompany a child aged 16 or older (ID will be required if there is any doubt). This age limit is in place due to the heat in the spa and sauna, which can become unbearable for children and lead to discomfort.
Failure to follow these safety guidelines will result in the cancellation or immediate exclusion from the stay without compensation from our establishment.

The occupancy limit for each cabin corresponds to the maximum capacity based on the available equipment. Exceeding this limit is prohibited for safety and insurance reasons. The only exception is for babies under 8 months old (infants who do not crawl or take their first steps), for whom a crib will be provided at no charge.
Failure to respect this rule will result in the exclusion of all occupants. No indemnity or refund, even partial, will be offered.

As previously mentioned, our accommodations are for 2 people only. Using the SPA or sauna by more than 2 people is strictly prohibited. Any violation of this rule will result in a 30% deduction from your deposit when it is refunded.

6/ Special Conditions

Access to all cabins is prohibited for individuals who suffer from vertigo, sleepwalking, or uncorrected vision. A PMR (Persons with Reduced Mobility) cabin is available for guests with heart problems, and must be reserved through our website.

6.1 Services Not Provided During Your Stay, Outside Our Control
In the event that, for reasons beyond our control, the services typically included and specific to the cabins (such as the use of the SPA or sauna) cannot be used during the entire stay, a reimbursement of €80 for the cancellation of these services will be made.

7/ Animals
Pets are not allowed on our domain or inside the cabins. Failure to comply with this clause will result in the cancellation of your stay without any possible reimbursement.

8/ Valuables
It is recommended not to leave valuable items inside the cabins. However, a safe is available in each cabin for your convenience. Les Écrins du Val de Mouthe cannot be held responsible for theft during your stay.

9/ Complaints
Any complaints related to a stay must be sent by registered mail with acknowledgment of receipt within 30 days following the stay to the following address:

10/ Alcohol and Cigarettes Consumption
For safety reasons, it is strictly forbidden to be in a state of intoxication on the premises, inside the cabins, or on the terraces. Smoking is prohibited inside the cabins. However, all cabins are equipped with terraces where smoking is allowed, provided that no cigarette butts are left in nature. Ashtrays are available for use.

11/ Parking
Vehicles must be parked in an unsupervised parking lot. Les Écrins du Val de Mouthe cannot be held responsible for any theft or damage that may occur. Since the parking area is located in a natural setting, falling branches, snow, or other natural occurrences are possible. No compensation can be requested for such incidents.

12/ Electric Charging Station
An electric charging station is available for our guests. Please contact us or inquire upon arrival for usage details.

13/ Natural Hazards
As the domain is located in a natural environment, the occurrence of snowfalls, falling branches, slipping due to ice, mud, and other hazards is possible. The establishment cannot be held responsible for any injuries caused by these natural risks, nor for insect stings or bites from small animals.

14/ Important Information
It is essential to have a fully charged mobile phone with you. An emergency number will be provided on-site, as well as useful phone numbers.
Any additional services requested by the guest before or during the stay will be charged.
Catering options for dinner and/or lunch in your cabin will be offered by email.

 Any forgotten items will be kept and made available to their owner for up to 2 months from the date of the stay. After this period, they will be either destroyed or donated to charity, and no claims will be accepted. If the item is shipped, it will be sent upon the client's express request and shipping + administrative handling fees of €10 will be charged.
